License Requirements, Fees, and Examination Information:
A baton permit is required in order to carry and use a baton while on duty as security guard.
Requirements:
Be 18 or older.
Receive baton training from a Bureau certified baton training facility and instructor.
Have or obtain a valid security guard registration.
Initial Fee (paid to the baton training facility) - $50
Training facility charges a fee for training in addition to the permit fee.
Permit is issued by the baton training facility upon successful completion of training.
The permit requires no renewal or additional training, however it is only valid when the holder has a valid security guard registration.
