What's New in LMI
What’s New in LMI contains recent changes or additions made to data provided by the Labor Market Information Division. All data can also be accessed in the Data Library.
Monthly Press Release Data
Each month the EDD Labor Market Information Division (LMID) releases revised and preliminary civilian labor force, unemployment rates, and industry employment by geography for California, metropolitan areas, counties, and sub-county areas. The last data released was for April 2023.
Data for areas on the drop down list that have an * after the name offer multi-county Metropolitan Area data only.

California Occupational Guides and Occupation Profiles
The California Occupational Guides provide detailed information on California wages, job outlook, education, and licensing requirements for approximately 300 occupations. The Guides offer students and jobseekers occupational information to assist with making informed career choices.

Select this option to narrow your focus, such as by alphabet, interests, education, most openings, fastest growth, and green. - Occupation Profiles
The Occupation Profiles provide similar detailed information on California and local areas, but include more occupations. They offer a longer list of tasks and more of a job search focus.
GIS Interactive Maps
The GIS Interactive Map display non-seasonally adjusted California Labor Force and Unemployment Data for all 58 counties and 21 major cities ranked by population size. These maps and associated data are updated monthly at the time of the official EDD Press Release. Refer to the EDD Data Release Schedule for the next planned update.
Publications Library
The EDD produces several Labor Market Information (LMI) publications that are available online. These publications are produced weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually. Occasionally, the EDD will produce special reports to inform the public of important economic trends.
